Agricultural group offers $500 farm safety awards

Story tools:

The New York State Agricultural Society is offering $500 farm safety awards, and the deadline to apply for them is quickly approaching.

The award recognizes farm operators who have unique and successful farm safety programs for their employees, and who in some cases have saved lives of family members and employees because of them.

Past award recipients include KC Bailey Fruit Farms of Williamson and Table Rock Farms of Castile.

Applications must be submitted by July 1. Awards are presented in August at Empire Farm Days.

To apply or nominate a farm, visit www.nysagsociety.org (see the Awards& Contests, Farm Safety category). Applications are available online or can be requested by contacting Penny Heritage at (518) 384-1715.
