PERENNIAL PLANT SALE: New Covenant Tabernacle is hosting a Perennial/Plant Sale from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. today and from 11 a. m. to 2 p. m. Sunday in the courtyard at 345 McConkey Drive, Town of Tonawanda. There is a large variety to choose from at a great price. Proceeds benefit the church’s bus ministry.
E-CYCLE EVENT: Stereo Advantage and Sony will sponsor a free recycling event for outdated electronic equipment from 10 a. m. to 6 p. m. today and 11 a. m. to 4 p. m. Sunday, in the parking lot of Stereo Advantage, 5195 Main St., Amherst. Old audio, video, gaming, computer and television equipment will be accepted. For details, call 632-8038.
CAR WASH: A car wash and fundraiser to benefit the Elma Relay for Life will be held from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. Sunday 7 at the Sunoco station at Bullis and Bowen roads.
CONCERT: The Buffalo Mural Arts Project will hold a concert to raise money for supplies and artists to begin the mural project from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. Sunday at the Buffalo Central Terminal at 495 Paderewski Drive. Among the performers are: Type Relevant, The Broadcast, The Incurables, and Christerpher Bell.
CONCERT, BAKED GOODS: The Marilla United Methodist Church, 1910 Two Rod Road, will hold a concert and bake sale at 3 p. m. Sunday. Proceed will go toward the purchase of a three-octave set of English hand bells for the church. For details, call 652-7465.
ISLAND HOMES: An exhibition on the hotels, groves and private resorts that dotted Grand Island in the early 1900s will be presented by the Grand Island Historical Society from 1 to 4 p. m. Sunday in River Lea farmhouse, Beaver Island State Park. Featured in the display of photographs, paintings, documents, maps and other memorabilia will be the Bedell House, Oakfield Club, McCombs —or Island—Club and Edgewater Hotel and Amusement Park, among others. WALK THIS WAY: Walking tours of the 1901 Pan American Exposition grounds will start at 12:30 p. m. Sunday , July 5, Aug. 2, Sept. 6 and Oct. 4. The 90-minute docent-led walks will start from the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, 25 Nottingham Court. Points of interest include the former sites of the 375- foot-tall Electric Tower on Lincoln Parkway, a 12,000-seat stadium where mock battles and sporting events were held and the spot where President William McKinley was fatally shot by an anarchist. THEME TRAY AUCTION: The Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Justinettes will hold a theme tray auction and baked goods sale from 1 p. m. to 4 p. m. SPAGHETTI DINNER: The Organization of Triangles, a youth sorority for girls ages 10 through 21 will host an all you can eat spaghetti dinner from 11 a. m. to 5 p. m. Sunday, at the Tonawanda Masonic Hall, 190 Minerva St., Tonawanda. Dinner includes a salad bar, spaghetti dinner with meatballs, Italian bread, beverage and desert. Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
GOLF CLASSIC: The March of Dimes Celebrity Golf Classic will take place at noon, Monday, at Brookfield Country Club, 5120 Shimerville Road, Clarence. This annual event raises money and awareness for premature infancy. Current and former Buffalo Sabres and other Western New York sports celebrities and local sportscasters will be in attendance.
