Youth Police Academy to be held Oct. 18
The 14th annual Youth Police Academy for seventh-and eighth-grade students will be held Oct. 18, Buffalo Police Commissioner H. McCarthy Gipson announced.
Organized by the Citizen Advisory Group to the Police Commissioner, the one-day academy will be held at Police Headquarters at 74 Franklin St.
The academy will include information about forensics, gangs, graffiti, new police technology, conflict resolution, drug court and skits by the Buffalo Police Explorer’s post.
The event is sponsored by the Buffalo Police Foundation and the FBI Foundation under the auspices of the West Side Community Center.
Applications are available at all City of Buffalo public, private and charter middle schools and via the Girl Scouts. The first 100 applicants will be admitted. For more information, call 851-4523.
