Laurel Street man charged with DWI after accident

Story tools:

A man with two previous drunken driving convictions was arrested again Saturday evening on two counts of DWI after he allegedly sideswiped two vehicles on Buffalo’s Lower West Side and drove away.

Police said Ernest L. Perry, 59, of Laurel Street, registered a blood-alcohol count of 0.28, more than three times the legal limit of 0.08. In addition to the DWI counts, he was charged with aggravated DWI and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.

Witnesses told police that a white 2002 Buick struck two vehicles in the 200 block of West Avenue at about 8:15 p. m. Police spotted the car and arrested Perry at Maryland Street and Whitney Place about 10 minutes later.
