Westminster Church to host series on health care
“Health Care in America,” a series of four Sunday morning programs, is being presented in Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave., starting Sunday.
The schedule: Sunday — Judy Shanley, lawyer and executive director of Southeast Works, will facilitate a program provided by the Reaching for Excellence project of the University at Buffalo’s Regional Institute. She will present four descriptions of how the health system might look in 2018. An audience discussion will follow.
Sept. 21— Dr. Nancy H. Nielsen, the Buffalo physician named president of the American Medical Association, will discuss the AMA’s proposals for health care reform and other issues.
Sept. 28— Michael V. Haselswerdt, professor of political science at Canisius College, will talk about the politics of health care reform.
Oct. 5— Dr. David C. Hohn, former president of Roswell Park Cancer Institute, will discuss a range of health issues, including the consolidation of Erie County Medical Center and Kaleida Health.
Programs begin at 9:35 a. m. in the church’s Case Library.
