Buffalo driver charged with aggravated DWI
A Buffalo man who drove through a red light in the Town of Newstead subsequently was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, Erie County sheriff’s deputies said Thursday.
Ronald Ramos, 21, of Tonawanda Street, was pulled over by Deputy Robert Kolmetz after he allegedly ran a red light at Buell Street and Main Road shortly after 8 p. m. Wednesday.
Ramos initially was charged with driving while intoxicated after failing several field sobriety tests, deputies said. The charge was changed to aggravated DWI after a chemical test determined Ramos had a blood-alcohol content of .18.
Released to a third party, Ramos will appear in Newstead Town Court on an undisclosed date.
