Employee of barbershop caught in gunfire exchange

A man standing in the doorway of a barbershop on Main Street near Fillmore Avenue was shot in the face at about 7 p. m. Wednesday when caught in an exchange of gunfire, Buffalo police said.

Anthony Tyler, 41, whose address was unavailable, was being treated in Erie County Medical Center for injuries not believed to be life-threatening. Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge said Tyler, an employee of the barbershop, was not believed to be a target.

Police said several shots were fired by at least two people and three weapons were recovered on Main Street.
