Two stabbings on East Side may be related, Buffalo police report
Two men were stabbed Tuesday morning in two vicious robberies on the city’s East Side that may have been committed by the same assailants, police reported.
James M. Mosely, 39, was listed in fair condition Tuesday in Erie County Medical Center, where he was being treated for multiple stab wounds to the right side of his body. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
In the other incident, Steven Green, 46, suffered two stab wounds to his neck. He was treated in ECMC and later released.
The robberies both happened on East Delavan Avenue and were less than a half-mile apart from one another.
Mosely was at East Delavan and Grider Street at about 1:50 a. m. when he was robbed by two men who stabbed him multiple times, Northeast District police said.
The assailants ran away, and it was unclear what was stolen from the victim.
Police sources said they believe Mosely was an innocent victim. The two robbers were described as black men, one tall wearing a white shirt and the other shorter wearing a black shirt.
About 35 minutes earlier, two black men, one tall and one short, confronted Green at East Delavan and Wyoming avenues, police reported.
The men asked Green for all his money. The victim complied, handing over $1, but the men stabbed him twice in his neck, police reported.
