DRUM CIRCLE: A free community drum circle will take place at 7 p. m. today in Johnson Park on Buffalo’s lower West Side. Participants are asked to bring a hand drum and a chair. First-time drummers are welcome. For more information, call 852-0511.

SENIOR PROGRAM: The Erie County Senior Services Connects program, connecting residents age 60 and older and/or their caregivers with information and services, will be available at the following sites: from 10 a. m. to 1 p. m. Wednesday in the Elma Senior Center, 3007 Bowen Road; 9:30 to 11:30 a. m. Friday in Tosh Collins Senior Center, 35 Cazenovia St.; and from noon to 5 p. m. Saturday and Sunday at the Federation Picnic in Cheektowaga Town Park on Harlem Road. For details, call 858-2022.

VETERANS EVENT: The Veterans Affairs Western New York Healthcare System Heath Care for Homeless Veterans Program and Niagara Falls Post 1664, American Legion, will sponsor a stand-down event for veterans from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. Thursday at the post, 725 E. Market St., in the Niagara Falls City Market. Veterans will have the opportunity to speak with VA Medical Center representatives about VA healthcare, housing, disability and pension benefits and prevention of substance abuse. Giveaways and lunch will be provided.

COMMUNITY BREAKFAST: State Sen. Antoine M. Thompson, D-Buffalo, will hold his monthly community leaders and stakeholders breakfast from 8:30 to 10 a. m. Saturday in the Delavan-Grider Community Center, 877 E. Delavan Ave. The event is free for the public, and a hot breakfast will be served.

DANCE BENEFIT: Buffalo Hop Swing Dance will present “Buffalo Hop!” from 9 to 11 p. m. Saturday in Unitarian Universalist Church, 695 Elmwood Ave. Throughout the day, beginners can attend dance workshops on the Lindy Hop, the jitterbug and other swing dances. In honor of the community of dancers and gardeners, a potluck dinner will take place from 5 to 8 p. m. Proceeds will benefit the Grassroots Gardens of Buffalo. FOOD FEST: St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 555 Northampton St., will host a multicultural food festival from 5 to 8:30 p. m. Saturday.
