Man’s 2nd DWI charge follows car crash

Story tools:

A Buffalo man convicted of drunken driving five years ago was charged with being drunk behind the wheel again at about 3:30 a. m. Saturday, following a crash that sent his passenger to the hospital.

Brian D. Davis, 25, of Rogers Avenue, was driving a 1996 four-door Mazda at East Ferry Street and Fillmore Avenue and turned onto East Ferry in front of another vehicle, Buffalo police said.

The passenger, whose name was not listed, was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center and was listed in critical condition, police said.

Davis was charged with first-degree vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated. Davis was convicted of DWI in April 2003, police said.
