Man accused of driving over his cousin’s legs
An East Amherst Street man is accused of repeatedly driving over his cousin’s legs last week, police said.
The victim, Archie McCormick, 51, of Northland Avenue, was listed in fair condition Tuesday in Erie County Medical Center. McCormick’s right leg was broken in two places, requiring the insertion of a steel rod. He also suffered a broken left ankle and foot, and a gouge on his left knee that was “down to the bone,” police said.
Mark A. Turner, 44, drove his Cadillac Fleetwood over McCormick’s legs three times at about 4:30 p. m. June 16 at McCormick’s Northland Avenue home, police said.
Turner, arrested Sunday night, is charged with felony assault. Records show Turner was previously convicted of felony attempted assault.
