City’s financial report earns national award

A national coalition of government officials has given Buffalo an award for its comprehensive annual financial report.
Buffalo Comptroller Andrew A. San- Filippo accepted the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association.
The group, representing 16,000 municipal finance professionals nationwide, uses an impartial panel to evaluate annual reports. Documents that meet a series of rigorous standards, including demonstrating a “spirit of full disclosure,” receive the honor.
“This Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting,” the association said.
