Every freshman entering Cleveland Hill High School this fall will have a chance to be mentored by a volunteer upperclassman, under a program introduced to School Board members Wednesday.
A 66-year-old Buffalo man was charged Thursday with stealing natural gas worth $20,947.98 from National Fuel, along with electrical services worth $7,039.20 from National Grid, at his Franklin Street home, Buffalo police said.
WASHINGTON — The Senate on Thursday approved an amendment that aims to make life at least slightly easier for property owners, including those in Buffalo, who have to buy insurance because their properties are located in federally designated flood zones.
A painting valued at $2,000, which was reported to Buffalo police as stolen Tuesday night from Buffalo Artist Lofts on Main Street, has been recovered. The artist said it was a misunderstanding and the painting simply had been borrowed by a friend.

Buffalo School Superintendent James A. Williams insisted Thursday he has not decided whether to accept a job in Memphis, Tenn., if it is offered and said his tenure in Buffalo is not necessarily coming to an end.
