Two accused of drunk driving
Updated: July 30, 2010, 10:10 AM
Authorities made two drunk driving arrests overnight, one in the Town of Boston and the other in the Town of Elma.
Just after midnight, state troopers spotted a white 2010 Volkswagen Golf on the Boston State Road in Boston with "headlight and tail light violations," state police said. The vehicle was stopped and troopers observed that the driver, Erin M. Gugino, 23, of Hamburg appeared to be drunk.
Gugino was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the state police Boston barracks, where she submitted to a chemical test that showed her blood alcohol content was 0.15 percent, nearly twice the legal limit. She was released and scheduled to appear in Town Court on Aug. 16.
Shortly after 12:30 a.m. today, Erie County sheriff's deputies responded to respond to a call about a reckless driver on Schwartz Road in Elma. The deputies found the car and saw it make an improper left turn. They pulled the car over and the driver, Thomas Majcher, 58, of Lancaster, was charged with driving while intoxicated.
A chemical test showed his blood alcohol content was 0.16 percent, two times the legal limit. He was released on a traffic summons and his car was placed on a 12-hour hold.
