NIAGARA FALLS—A burglary call turned into a drug bust Tuesday.

Dylan P. Phillips, 19, of Lindbergh Avenue, was charged with violating public health law for growing cannabis after Niagara Falls police found 11 marijuana plants, each five feet tall, in the back yard of his home in the 5600 block at 6:15 p. m. Tuesday.

Phillips had called police to his home to report a burglary. He said someone broke a window and stole a small safe containing $3,000 that was bolted under his bed.

Neighbors said they saw two men in the back yard and when police looked there, they found the plants.
