Brian E. Bartoe, 36, of Amherst, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to trafficking in counterfeit professional sports team jerseys—mostly Buffalo Bills and Sabres jerseys—at his Jersey Junkey store and website.

Bartoe admitted selling counterfeit NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB jerseys at his Bailey Avenue store and his website from September 2009 to April 2010. The jerseys were manufactured in China, prosecutors said.

Really trying to muster up some outrage here for the billion dollar sports industry being cheated out of their pound of flesh by some dude in a little shop in Amherst but it's just not happening....

Unfortunately the replica jerseys you can buy from the Sabres or Bills are also made overseas and are of equal or lesser quality as these knock offs for 5 times the price. For the mark up they enjoy on those, it would be nice if they supported an American company and promoted it as such.
