Police seek public’s help in finding shooting suspect
Updated: July 31, 2010, 6:32 AM
A 20-year-old West Side man suspected in last week’s shooting of a 15-year-old is being sought by Buffalo police who are asking for the public’s help, police reported Friday.
Authorities are trying to locate Indaleccio Rodriguez, also known as “India,” a 5-foot-10, 170-pound male who was last known to reside on 14th Street. Rodriguez is considered “armed and dangerous” and believed to be responsible for the 12:30 a. m., July 22 shooting near Connecticut and 14th streets.
Police said Rodriguez also has outstanding warrant charges pending for narcotics and traffic counts. He initially left the area, police believe, but has since returned. Rodriguez was a passenger in a Chevrolet Blazer and is suspected of shooting the teenage victim in the upper right leg. The victim was taken to the Erie County Medical Center.
Police already collared another suspect in that incident, the suspected driver of the vehicle, Hector Ramirez, 21, of Whitney Place. Ramirez was charged with multiple counts of assault, weapons and illegal narcotics charges.
