Buffalo firefighters extinguished a basement fire at 207 Easton Ave. on Friday morning, officials said.

The blaze was reported just before 8a.m. and has caused an estimated $50,000 in damage. The fire is under investigation.

Overnight, firefighters managed to contain a roof fire at the Showplace Theater on Grant Street.

That fire was reported at 11:30 p. m. and was caused by an electrical malfunction. Damages were estimated at $1,000.
