LITTLE VALLEY — An Allegany County woman has pleaded guilty in Cattaraugus County Court to stealing money from a Kmart store while working there as a cashier.

Melissa S. Blauvelt, 27, of Little Genesee, pleaded guilty before Cattaraugus County Judge Larry M. Himelein on Monday to fourth-degree grand larceny last year between July and November. Court records show more than $1,000 was stolen while she worked in the layaway department in the City of Olean. Himelein set sentencing for Nov. 9.

In another case, Jeremiah Phinney, 19, of Franklinville, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted burglary and fourth-degree grand larceny. He admitted that June 12 he entered Rogers Shurfine Foodmart in the Village of Franklinville and stole items valued at more than $1,000. He will be sentenced Oct. 5.

District Attorney Edward M. Sharkey said several others were arraigned and pleaded guilty and will be sentenced in October.

Steven C. Harris, 48, of Olean, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated and without a license Jan. 23 in the City of Salamanca while he had a blood-alcohol count of 0.32 percent, which is four times the legal limit.

Lance C. Weaver, 42, of Delevan, entered two guilty pleas: to driving without a license Sept. 19 and third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer Feb. 12, both in the Town of Yorkshire, when he drove at excessive speeds.

Patrick C. Dee, 18, of Randolph, pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted forgery Jan. 17 and Feb. 27 in the Town of Randolph, when he forged another person’s checks.

Billie Wheeler, also known as William Larkin, 20, of Salamanca, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted robbery and third-degree assault March 7 in the City of Salamanca, when another person was injured.

Tasha L. Campbell, 18, of Bradford, Pa., pleaded guilty to petit larceny Nov. 21 in the Village of Allegany, where she stole items from the Spring Break Cafe. Her sentencing was set for Nov. 9.

Sharkey said in additional cases, three people were sentenced.

Willson J. Clark, 24, of Salamanca, was sentenced to five years’ probation, fined $2,500 and his driver’s license was revoked for his conviction of DWI and driving without a license and resisting arrest March 10, 2008, in the City of Salamanca.

Stacy A. Dearmyer, 34, of Hamburg, was sentenced to five years’ probation, including 100 hours of community service, fined $2,500 and his driver’s license was revoked for his convictions of DWI and driving without a license Nov. 27 in the Town of Ashford.

Benjamin J. Bloomfield, 32, of Olean, was sentenced to a conditional discharge and restitution for his conviction of fourth-degree criminal mischief May 27, 2008, in the City of Olean, where he damaged another’s property.
