CHURCH HISTORY: The Rev. Louis Dolinic will present the history of Our Lady of Czestochowa Catholic Church when the Historical Society of the Tonawandas meets at 7:45 p. m. Wednesday in the church, 64 Center Ave., North Tonawanda. The church was founded more than 100 years ago as a national parish for Polish immigrants in North Tonawanda. In June 2008, parishioners of the closed St. Joseph Catholic Church merged with OLC. The merged parish has more than 1,200 families. The program is free to the public.
FOOD DRIVE: Eggertsville Hose Company will be collecting nonperishable goods for its annual food drive. Firefighters will be throughout the Eggertsville area beginning at 6 p. m. Wednesday.. Donations of food also can be dropped off at the fire station, 1880 Eggert Road, or left outside your door in a shopping bag. All donations will be packaged to help the families in need in the Eggertsville area. Additional information is also available at

CONGRESS ON YOUR CORNER: The office of Rep. Brian Higgins, D-Buffalo, will host satellite hours for Chautauqua County residents from 11:30 a. m. to noon Friday in the Fredonia-Pomfret Grape Belt Senior Center, 21 Moore Ave., and from 1 to 3 p. m. in the second-floor Trustees Room of Fredonia Village Hall.
