CAREER FAIR: “Operation Hire: Veterans Career Fair” will take place from 1 to 4 p. m. Thursday in Pvt. Leonard Post Jr. Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, 2450 Walden Ave., Cheektowaga. More than 55 employers will be in attendance, offering 500 jobs for veterans and their families in fields such as manufacturing, health care, the skilled trades and education. Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Ave., will offer round-trip shuttle services beginning at noon. For more information or shuttle information, call 851-2750.

AWARENESS EVENT: The Challenge Club at Cheektowaga Central High School will host the annual “Sleep Out for the Homeless” event at 9 p. m. Friday at the high school, 3600 Union Road. The event is a symbolic way of raising awareness and money. For more information, call 686-3631.

RAFFLE: A theme basket raffle will take place at 6 p. m. Friday in St. Vincent de Paul School, 6441 Seneca St., Elma. Admission is $5 and includes one sheet of 25 tickets, coffee and a snack. Additional sheets are $3. Food and beverages available for purchase. For more information, call 652-8697.

CHURCH AUCTION: St. Vincent de Paul Home School Association will host a theme basket and ticket auction for adults only Friday in the school, 6441 Seneca St., Elma. Doors open at 6 p. m. and drawings begin at 7:30.

HEALTH FAIR: A free health fair will take place from 3 to 4:30 p. m. Saturday at Miller Tennis Center, 5959 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. The event will include product specialists in massage therapy, iridology, reflexology, weight management, anti-aging, pet health and cosmetics. For more information, call 207-7608.

JEWELRY SALE: St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is having a gently used jewelry and accessory sale from 9 a. m. to 1 p. m. Saturday at 70 Adam St., City of Tonawanda. Admission is $2 and includes coffee and a bagel. The event includes vintage pieces, costume jewelry, purses, hats and scarves. For more information, call 693-1150.

FLU CLINIC: A free seasonal influenza clinic will be held from 9 a. m. to 4 p. m. Saturday at Belmont Court House’s front parking lot, 7 Court St., Belmont. MATERNITY EXPO: The fourth annual Pregnancy and Baby Expo will be held from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. Sunday in Michael’s Banquet Hall, 4885 Southwestern Blvd., Hamburg. In addition to vendors, the event will include door prizes, a ticket auction and free samples. Admission is free. For more information, call 681-8100.
