AIDS AWARENESS DAY: The seventh annual National Latino AIDS Awareness Day will take place from 3 to 7 p. m. Friday at the Father Belle Center, 104 Maryland St. The event will include HIV/STD testing, a health fair, music and games. For more information, call 430-2528.

POETRY EVENT: The newly formed SMILE poetry club at Erie Community College will hold a poetry reading from 7 to 10 p. m. Saturday in the 2nd Cup cafe, 36 Broadway.

GLUTEN-FREE DIET GROUP: The Western New York Gluten-Free Diet Support Group will meet at 10 a. m. Saturday in the Mount Mercy Academy cafeteria, 88 Red Jacket Parkway. The meeting will include a gluten-free cooking demonstration by a chef from Rich Products. For more information, visit

POINT-REDUCTION COURSE: A New York State-certified six-hour point-reduction course will from 8:30 a. m. to 3 p. m. Saturday in Room 218 of Duns Scotus Hall, Daemen College, 4380 Main St., Snyder. The course allows each applicant to receive 10 percent off collision and liability auto insurance and can remove up to four points from a driver’s license. To register, call 636-4151.
