NIAGARA FALLS—The Labor Day holiday on Monday will delay household rubbish and trash collections by one day throughout next week.

Modern Disposal Services, which handles garbage and trash pickups for the city, said Monday’s normal collections will be picked up Tuesday. Collections for the rest of the week will be one day later than usual.

Garbage and recyclables must be at the alleyway or curbside pickup points by 7 a. m. on each collection day.

Monday will be a holiday for most city employees, and City Hall will be closed. Niagara Falls Public Library and its LaSalle Branch also will be closed that day. The library will resume its Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. beginning Sept. 11.

The Common Council meeting normally scheduled for Monday will be held instead Tuesday. A committee of the whole work session will be held at 4 p. m., and the regular Council meeting will begin at 7 p.m.

Hours at the city’s golf course in Hyde Park also will be changed next week. Beginning Tuesday, the course will be open for weekday play from 7:30 a. m. to 7 p.m. daily and for weekend play beginning Sept. 11 from 7 a. m. to 7 p.m.
