The economics of hazardous waste

In a report about the financial impact of its operations, CWM Chemical Services asserts the following are among its contributions. Critics say the company ignores the costs.
Six percent of gross revenues paid annually in gross receipts tax to Porter, Lewiston and three school districts (totaling $993,087 in 2008).
Annual payroll costs of about $5 million.
About $56 million to be spent on new landfill construction, if one is permitted by the state.
Annual contributions to local organizations of about $35,000.
