LOCKPORT—A Lancaster man who violated an order of protection and allegedly pulled out clumps of a woman’s hair was charged by Niagara County sheriff’s deputies just before 1:30 a. m. Wednesday.

John J. Salvalzo, 39, of Broadway, was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree criminal contempt and third-degree menacing and held on $2,000 bail in Niagara County Jail.

A Glendale Court woman told deputies that she had prior problems with Salvalzo and had a stay-away order which he had violated. She said he started yelling at her, grabbing her by the hair, swinging her to the ground and slamming her head, until a neighbor intervened and removed him.
