Buffalo firefighters were on the scene of a basement fire at 207 Easton Ave. this morning, officials said.

The blaze was reported just before 8 a.m. and has caused an estimated $50,000 in damage.

The fire is under investigation.

Overnight, firefighters managed to contain a roof fire at the Showplace Theater on Grant Street.

That fire was reported at 11:30 p.m. and was caused by an electrical malfunction. Damages were estimated at $1,000.
