Mary Alyce Kirschner, lifelong resident of Buffalo until 2008, died May 1 in Charlottesville, Va., after a lengthy illness. She was 88.

She was born Mary Alyce Blanco in Buffalo, was a graduate of Saint Mary’s Seminary in Buffalo and attended Rosemont College near Philadelphia. After a 20-year professional career as a legal secretary and teacher at Bishop McMahon High School, she married John L. Kirschner, a Buffalo-area lawyer.

She is survived by a daughter, Logan Blanco, and sister, Jeanne Stark.

A memorial service and luncheon will be at noon next Thursday in the Twentieth Century Club, 595 Delaware Ave.
