A Buffalo man shot Saturday in the 1400 block of Main Street has died, authorities confirmed Wednesday.

Joseph Washington, 61, who was shot in the upper body at about 6 p.m. on Main near Glenwood Avenue, was hospitalized in Erie County Medical Center. He is the city’s 41st homicide victim of the year.

Homicide detectives, who are continuing their investigation of the shooting, ask anyone with information to call or text message the Buffalo police anonymous tipcall line at 847-2255 or by visiting www.bpdny.org and clicking on “Report a Tip.”

Meanwhile, two other recent shooting victims—including DeMario Vass, 30, who was shot in the massacre early Aug. 14 outside City Grill—remain hospitalized in ECMC. Vass remained in serious condition Wednesday.

James Clemons, 30, was last listed in critical condition late Monday in ECMC. A hospital spokeswoman said Wednesday there was no update on Clemons’ condition but he was admitted to a general patient room.

Clemons was shot Aug. 12 in the 100 block of Walden Avenue. Police also are seeking the public’s help in identifying an gold or tan Chevrolet Impala with a sunroof that was believed to be involved in the shooting.
