Updated: September 6, 2010, 6:27 AM
BATAVIA—A car hit two motorcycles, ejecting and injuring the driver and passenger on one of the bikes, in a multivehicle accident Saturday afternoon in East Bethany, state police report.
The accident occurred at around 3 p. m. when a car traveling south on Ellicott Street Road stopped to turn left into the parking lot of Immaculate Conception Church and was hit from behind by another car. The collision pushed the first car into the path of the motorcycles, which were traveling north in the other lane.
The injured motorcyclists were in stable condition in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, troopers said. The condition of the driver of the first car, who was taken to United Memorial Medical Center, was not available. The driver of the second car was issued traffic tickets for unsafe speed and following too closely, state police said. Their names were not released.
