Thomas Patrick Young of South Buffalo will lead the 2010 St. Patrick’s Day Parade as grand marshal when the annual event proceeds down Delaware Avenue at 2 p. m. March 14.

Young, sales manager for Commercial Collection Corp. of New York, carries on a family tradition of participation in the parade.

His late uncle and aunt—Raymond and Catherine O’Brien—served as grand marshals in 1958 and 1984, respectively. This year his cousin, Dennis J. O’- Brien, will serve as deputy marshal, along with Young’s fiancee, Vincy Faliero.

According to the United Irish American Association, sponsor of the parade, this year’s event will be dedicated to the memory of Terence M. Halloran, grand marshal in 1983.

Young has served on the parade committee since the early 1990s, is a member of its Executive Committee, and is the liaison to parade vendors.
