Housing Opportunities Made Equal in Buffalo is one of seven nonprofit groups in New York State that will share in a $1.7 million grant from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to help people who believe they are victims of housing discrimination.

HOME will use its $263,846 grant for a three-year project that will handle up to 360 allegations of discrimination, including investigation and mediation. It also will use the funding for staff training and administering a litigation fund.
