Forum to focus on jobs and economic development
Updated: August 21, 2010, 3:31 AM
Job creation and economic development issues facing Western New York will be the focus of a Wednesday forum in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
Mayor Byron W. Brown is hosting the session at the request of the Obama administration. The White House has asked mayors from across the nation to convene local forums in hopes of getting input on strategies for improving the economy.
The Buffalo forum will bring together business owners, not-for-profit groups, community organizations, labor leaders, financial experts and the public. The free event will be held from 4 to 6:30 p. m. However, prior registration is required. Anyone wishing to participate can visit the city’s Web site at
www.city-buffalo.com/mayors-jobforum
or fax an R. S. V. P. to 851-5052. People can also call the city’s 311 non-emergency line to register or obtain information.
