Bruce Springsteen is urging fans attending Sunday’s HSBC Arena concert to bring donations of nonperishable food for the Food Bank of Western New York.

The Food Bank will station barrels at each entrance to the showplace, and volunteers will be collecting cash donations before and after the concert. Before the conclusion of the concert with the E Street Band, Springsteen will encourage fans to donate on their way out of the concert.

Springsteen also has donated four tickets to the Food Bank, which were auctioned off for $14,100—a sum that the rock star will match.

“Bruce has been a longtime fan of food banks across the country,” said Marylou Borowiak, president and chief executive officer of the local food bank.
