Exhibition explores the physics of sound
Updated: August 21, 2010, 2:52 AM
The physics of sound through wave formation, pitch, amplification and resonance is explored by “Good Vibrations,” a fall-themed exhibition that opened last weekend in the Buffalo Museum of Science.
Besides displaying music-related pieces from its collection and eight interactive sound stations from the Exploratorium in San Francisco, the museum will offer hands-on activities and a popular music video game each Wednesday through Sunday, as well as musical performances Saturdays and Sundays.
Activities and performances will focus on a different music-related theme each week throughout the exhibit run, which ends Jan. 31.
The museum will remain open for an evening concert every other Friday starting this week with a performance by the Alex Rene Big Swing Band. Concerts will begin at 6:30 and are included with museum admission. Admission on those days will be reduced by $2 after 4. For further information, call 896-5200 or visit
