Theft of stamps, coins gets Cuba man 3 years in prison

LITTLE VALLEY—A Town of Cuba man faces up to three years in prison for stealing stamp and coin collections.
Richard A. Tucker, 38, of Ream Road, was sentenced Tuesday by Cattaraugus County Judge Larry M. Himelein to one to three years in prison. He also must make $492 restitution. Tucker earlier pleaded guilty to fourth-degree grand larceny for the theft June 16, 2009, at a house on Birch Run Road in the Town of Allegany.
In another sentencing, Chasity D. Gaines, 26, of West Clarksville Road, was sentenced to one to three years in prison and restitution of $275 for her guilty plea to third-degree burglary July 18, 2009, at a house in the City of Olean when items including guitars and related musical equipment were stolen.
Her accomplice, Dean L. Rhodes, 29, also of West Clarksville, was sentenced to five years’ probation and $250 restitution for his guilty plea to third-degree burglary.
Mark D. Woolston, 49, of Buffalo, was sentenced to one to three years in prison and fined $1,500 for his guilty pleas to driving while intoxicated and driving without a license Jan. 22 in Yorkshire.
Janet M. Bremiller, 31, of East Otto, was sentenced to five years’ probation, including 100 hours of community service, and is to pay $6,487 restitution for her guilty pleas to fourth-degree grand larceny and fifth-degree welfare fraud.
Bremiller admitted stealing more than $3,200 while working at Brooks Supermarket in the Village of Cattaraugus between Aug. 28 and Oct. 2, 2009, and not reporting the income to the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services, where she was receiving financial assistance.
Brian D. Butts, 24, of Dunkirk, was sentenced to five years’ probation, including, 100 hours of community service and $240 restitution, for his guilty plea to third-degree burglary June 30, 2009 in South Dayton when he stole $240 cash from a building.
Albert J. Kneer, 50, of West Valley, was sentenced to five years’ probation, including 100 hours of community service and $5,785 in restitution, for his guilty plea to fourth-degree grand larceny.
Kneer admitted that on Jan. 25 in the Town of Yorkshire, while employed at Stop & Gas, he stole bank deposits.
Karen Yehl, 44, of Salamanca, was sentenced to three years’ probation, including 100 hours of community service and a $650 fine, for her guilty pleas to DWI, disorderly conduct and leaving an accident scene Oct. 15 in the City of Salamanca.
