Some 15 protesters picketed Saturday afternoon outside The Buffalo News as part of a nationwide Tea Party event taking the media to task for supporting the status quo.

Carrying signs calling The News “too liberal,” members of the group—who said they were from Buffalo and Erie County—criticized the newspaper for supporting the administration of Mayor Byron Brown, not providing more conservative views and not providing more critical coverage of health care reform, pension costs and government spending.

Similar protests were being staged throughout the country Saturday as part of the Tea Party protest. “Can You Hear Us Now?”

The protest at The News lasted less than an hour, with many of the protesters leaving once TV news cameras left the event.
