A cocktail reception, music and dance by talented young people, and awards in the fields of art and education are highlights of Young Audiences WNY’s annual “Goes to Town” fundraiser from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. April 16 in Town Ballroom, 681 Main St.
Honorees will include curator, teaching artist and collector Gerald Mead; philanthropists and retired educators Jerry McGuire and Fay Northrop; Casimiro D. Rodriquez Sr., chairman and founder of the Hispanic Heritage Council of WNY; Edmund Cardoni, executive director of Hallwalls; and Cheryl Jackson, art educator at Bennett Park Montessori Center School 32.
The second half of the evening will feature all-star performances by Young Audiences artists, led by Van Taylor of Taylor Made Jazz. An appetizer buffet will be provided by Current Catering. Tickets are $50. For information, visit www.yawny.org.
