WARSAW – The arrest of a 19-year-old Town of Pike man accused of being a deserter from his U.S. Army unit in Fort Drum was reported Monday by the State Police and Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office.
Andrew E. Cox was found last Tuesday hiding upstairs in a Town of Pike home. In addition to the federal felony crime of Military Desertion he was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana for a small amount of marijuana troopers reporters finding on him. He was initially remanded to the Wyoming County Jail here pending his pick up by military police for a return to Fort Drum. Ultimately he will face proceedings in Pike Town Court on the marijuana charge, officials reported.
