Two people were shot at Arkansas and Barton Streets at about 11:30 a.m. on the city’s West Side, police said.

Homicide detectives were at the scene but no fatalities have been reported.

The injuries to one of the victims appear to be serious, according to Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge.

Twelve police vehicles were at the scene in addition to a Fire Marshall’s vehicle and an ambulance as heavy rain came down. Shocked and saddened neighbors lined the street.

One neighbor said one person was shot in the head in the middle of the street and another was taken from a nearby house by emergency medical technicans.

“This” stuff “is crazy,” another neighbor said. “Young people are getting killed every day.”
