A fire in a 2½-story house on the West Side Thursday morning left three adults and a puppy homeless, authorities said. Extra equipment and firefighters were required to knock down the blaze.
The fire started at about 10 a.m. on the first floor at 236 Potomac Ave. and quickly spread to the second floor and attic, causing a total of $105,000 in damages. At one point, firefighters were ordered out of the attic and the call went out for additional equipment at 10:17 a.m. The fire was declared under control at 10:38 a.m.
The cause remains under investigation.
