A West Seneca resident has been elected by Rotary International to serve as governor for the region encompassing Western New York and southern Ontario.
Jack Amico will preside over Rotary District 7090, which has more than 2,400 members in 70 clubs. He’s been a member of West Seneca Rotary Club since 1995 and served as its president in 2002; he also has served as an assistant governor with District 7090.
Amico is the owner of Buffalojobs.com, an information technology company, and is the Buffalo branch manager for Adams Real Estate Advisors, a Rochester-based commercial mortgage broker.
Amico and his wife, Dolores, have lived in the town for more than 40 years. They have six children and nine grandchildren.

• Admission is free to Spring Fest next Sunday at Burchfield Nature & Art Center, 2001 Union Road. Scheduled for noon to 4 p.m., there will be live music, children’s activities and crafts, raffles, refreshments and vendors. Representatives of pet adoption organizations and a wildlife rehabilitation center will be present, with feathered and furry friends. Donations are required from some activities.
