A West Seneca woman was the victim of a terrifying home invasion robbery Sunday afternoon, police said.

The woman, described as a senior citizen, was approached by a man at her home in the Fisher Court subdivision, police said in a statement.

Investigators with the West Seneca Police Detective Bureau said the man forced his way into her home, then made the woman give him her ATM card and PIN number.

The man bound the victim’s wrists, upper torso and mouth, police said, and then tried to force her into the trunk of her car which was parked inside a garage. A relative arrived to visit the woman and the man fled on foot.

The woman was treated for minor injuries at a hospital and released.

Police released a description of the man: a white male, between 6 feet and 6 feet 2, and about 30. He was thin with a scruffy beard and mustache. He was wearing a beige knit hat, brown pea coat style jacket and black boots.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call West Seneca Police’s tip line at 675-8423 or 674-2280.
