Labor Day weekend isn’t bringing beach-perfect weather, but the forecast is somewhat promising to those who want to spend the long weekend outside.
From Friday through Monday, some sun, mostly clouds and a chance of thunderstorms are forecast for each day.
“It doesn’t look like it’s a total washout, but keep an eye out,” said Steve Welch of the National Weather Service in Buffalo. “Some of the showers and storms could produce isolated areas of heavier rain.”
Following a sunny Thursday, partly cloudy skies will make their way through the area n Friday, with a high near 73.
On Saturday, there’s a chance of rain and thunderstorms after 9 a.m. Throughout the day, there will be breaks of sun in the sky, and the high will reach around 81. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
“You gotta be careful. If you go to the beach, just keep an eye on the sky just so you’re not outside during lighting,” Welch said.
The chance of showers continues into Sunday. The sky is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high around 72.
Labor Day looks to be the same, with a high near 74.
