The University at Buffalo is one of the nation’s top five institutions for research on and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, according Expertscape.

Expertscape is a website that ranks medical experts by their published material, including number of citations and their impact, in the National Library of Medicine.

Along with UB, the other top institutions in COPD are Brigham and Women’s Hospital, the University of California, Los Angeles, The Johns Hopkins University and National Jewish Center.

The ranking also lists UB professor Sanjay Sethi among the top experts in COPD and UB professor Anne B. Curtis, a leading clinical cardiac electrophysiologist, as a top expert doing research in implantable defibrillators.
