A traffic stop on the Route 219 extension in Concord led deputies to a heroin arrest of a Ashford man, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said.
When deputies stopped a vehicle traveling without proper lights, they also discovered the passenger, Jesse Currie, 26, of Dutch Hill Road, was wanted on an outstanding warrant for criminal possession of a controlled substance.
In addition, deputies found that Currie had eight bags of heroin hidden in his pants and shoes, a Suboxone pill and a pipe containing marijuana.
Currie was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors; and unlawful possession of marijuana and possessing a controlled substance outside the original container, both violations.
Currie was held in the Erie County Holding Center awaiting an Aug. 18 court appearance.
The driver of the vehicle was cited for improper automobile equipment and released.
