Town of Tonawanda

The annual kindergarten school bus orientation and open house in the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School District is scheduled for Saturday.

Sponsored by the school bus safety team from the district’s transportation department, the event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon in the school bus lot, 1680 Military Road, north of Sheridan Drive. Bus drivers and attendants will be present to teach school bus safety rules and crossing procedures.

A program on “stranger danger” will also be presented.

This week:

• A work session of the Kenmore Village Board begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the mayor’s office at the Municipal Building, 2919 Delaware Ave. A regular meeting follows at 8 in Council Chambers.

• The Clean Air Coalition’s Climate Change Film Series continues at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Brighton Place Library, 999 Brighton Road, with a screening of “Everything’s Cool,” a documentary that studies the politics behind climate change.

• Mount St. Mary Academy will hold its outdoor Summer Arts & Craft Show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the school, 3756 Delaware Ave. The show is part of the school’s fourth annual Summer Festival, which includes band concerts, barbecues, a fashion show, farmers’ market, classic car show and children’s activities.
