The 32-year-old convicted Tonawanda rapist taken into custody today when Jamestown police found him hiding in a garage there this morning faces arraignment in Tonawanda Town Court Tuesday on the warrant charging him with failing to register his most current address as required of all convicted New York State sex offenders.
Brandon Knorr is being held tonight in the cellblock at Town of Tonawanda Police Headquarters, police officials confirmed. Knorr, who most recently has had addresses in both Cheektowaga and Tonawanda, was the subject of a search for his recent failure to register as a sex offender with the town. He was convicted in 2005 of third-degree rape. Town of Tonawanda police officials today thanked the Jamestown Police Department, the New York State Police, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Department and the 38,000 persons who responded with tips on Knorr after his case was posted on the Town of Tonawanda Police Facebook page.
Both the companion police agencies and the 38,000 Facebook tipsters were thanked for having “commented, shared and assisted in tracking down” Knorr.
