Three armed robberies occurred overnight Tuesday in different areas of the city, Buffalo police said.
On the East Side, a woman in the 200 block of Townsend Street told police a man armed with a handgun struck her in the face about 11 p.m. Tuesday, bruising her right cheek. The robber, whose identity is known to the woman, stole $300 before fleeing south toward Paderewski Drive, police said.
A woman walking north on Richmond Avenue near Rhode Island Street, on the West Side, about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday was accosted d by a man armed with a knife, wearing a black shirt and khaki pants, who attempted to grab her purse, police said. The woman, who was thrown to the ground, suffered cuts to three fingers and the bandit fled emptyhanded, police said.
A gunman with a revolver fired several shots at a man on Manhattan Avenue near Kensington Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, after stealing $2,650, police said.
