A Buffalo woman pleaded not guilty today to second-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of another Buffalo woman outside the suspect’s home two months ago.
State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller continued bail at $50,000 for Nedra S. Jones, 28, of North Oak Street.
She is charged in the Sept. 8 slaying of Lonnice M. Willis, 28, of Seneca Street.
Erie County Judge Thomas P. Franczyk on Sept. 25 set bail at $50,000, which she posted.
At her arraignment, Assistant District Attorney Gary W. Hackbush requested Jones be held without bail.
Jones was indicted earlier this month in the slaying. Police believe Willis went to Jones’ residence to speak to her ex-boyfriend and ended up in a confrontation with Jones.
If convicted, Jones faces up to 25 years to life in prison, according to Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.
