Two men who admitted robbing a woman last March in the Boulevard Mall parking lot face lengthy prison terms.
Fardat Vahdat, 23, of Allenhurst Street, Amherst, who entered the United States illegally from Iran, and Dominic Natarseh, 26, of Bristol Street, Buffalo, a naturalized citizen from Iran, pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery, according to District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III.
They admitted robbing the woman at about 4:30 p.m. March 15 as she got into her car.
Vahdat pressed a loaded BB gun to her head, while Natarseh drove the getaway car, Sedita said. A family going to dinner at a mall restaurant saw the woman crying and the two suspects fleeing so followed the men by car and called 911.
Amherst police arrested the men on Niagara Falls Boulevard at Sheridan Drive.
The men, prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Sara N. Ogden, face up to 15 years in prison when sentenced Nov. 11 by State Supreme Court Justice Russell Buscaglia.
After Vahdat completes his sentence, he will be subject to deportation.
